. . . sometimes they’re Burgundy… My Favorite Fall / Winter Color

The deep lush color of this stylish jacket reminds me of a beautiful bouquet of dark red roses and a bottle of burgundy colored Merlot.

It’s January and it is quite cold outside here in New York. But for fashion lovers, the crisp coldness and the windy days signifies that its also time to layer up with stylish jackets and gorgeous sweaters that ties your outfit together in so many different ways.

How to layer rich colors and playful prints during Winter? Why not try different textures and bold colors from contrasting color pallets like the ones I used in this classy yet stylish outfit.
When I designed this satin jacket that my model is wearing, I immediately thought of one of my favorite flowers…the Rose. In particular, the deep dark red rose with its silky petals and dark edges. The beauty of the dark rich color reminds me of being drawn into a world of lush burgundies and full-bodied Merlot. The rich color of this jacket makes it a perfect layering piece for this outfit. The jacket is tailored with a notched collar and a bound buttonhole. It is fully lined and the flounced sleeves give it a modern edge. Pair this edgy statement piece with a fun, playful print like this short gathered skirt with side pockets and a matching belt.

I love the playfulness of the print of the skirt so much that I decided to make it in two lenghs.
